JUAN POMARES
Born and educated in Spain, San Diegan since 1972, has a history of more than 30 years cooking the best paella. He claims that as far as cooking paella there is always room for perfection.
ELISA POMARES
Juan's wife. Born in Ecuador, San Diegan since 1968, learned to cook the best paella from Juan. Some reviews indicate that her paella has nothing to envy Juan's paella.
We cater for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, business functions, corporate lunches, etc.
We cook PAELLA on site. Meaning we set up where the event is going to take place, we bring our own burners, paella pans, fresh ingredients-no precook, and we cook in front of your guests. We can do for you little, take care of the food part of your event , or we can do for you all: Party Rentals, Serving/Cleaning Staff, etc. the choice is yours.
We cater paella all over San Diego County and neighboring Counties. We are the original Paella Caterers from Valencia, Spain. Do not be mislead by imitations.
The traditional Paella have chicken and a variety of seafood items like shrimp, calamari, mussels, clams, escallops, crab, lobster.....some vegetables like red bell peppers, garlic, tomatoes, green peas...it is cook with olive oil in a skill called "paella pan" and the only spice in it is the expensive "saffron".
Even today, in Spain, people use firewood to cook the best paella over hot coals in the kitchen or outdoors, as my dear friend Pablo is preparing the Sunday meal for his beloved family in Torrellano, Alicante.
Although discrepancy exist about what constitutes a real paella, we offer the most authentic variations to accommodate the needs and taste of all "paella lovers". We use the best ingredients available and disregard those that are not part of a legitimate paella. We follow the trend of good connoisseurs in cooking the most beloved festive meal of the Spanish Region of Valencia.
